45 MILLION ORPHANS BY 2010

ANY CHILD IS MY CHILD

The world community has not developed the ability or the capacity to deal with a problem of such gigantic dimensions. It is a problem that has a long-term agenda that must be measured in decades. 

There is an urgent imperative for social mobilisation - everybody has to get involved, on the basis of the principle 'community people caring for community children' - that each of us will say 'any child is my child.' 

Each of us has something to offer orphaned children; we must recognise that we too can become part of an orphan's community family.

These orphans have watched, with great emotional pain, their protectors and loved ones suffer and die. They live in constant fear of the future. 

For far too long, little has been done to prepare for this disaster.
