ENVIRONMENT
& HEALTH NETWORK PLATFORM ‘Participating
in the NEHAP process’ PRESS RELEASE Public participation and access to information are increasingly recognized as essential elements in achieving environmentally sound, health-enhancing and sustainable forms of development. One of the main objectives of the Environment & Health Network Platform is to ensure support for the elaboration of a Georgian National Environment and Health Action Plan, (NEHAP). Members of civil society should participate actively in the public consultation process and provide inputs to the development of this important national Action Plan. WomenAid International-Caucasus, through its NEHAP FORUM, is organizing a meeting, ‘Participating in the NEHAP process,’ to facilitate the involvement of all sectors of society. The first meeting is being held on Friday 7 September 2001 at the Health Management National Centre Conference Hall, 51, Javakhishvili Street, from 16.00 – 18.30 h. This
meeting offers an important opportunity Georgian civil society
to become actively involved in the public consultation process
and to provide inputs to the development of a National
Environment and Health Action Plan (NEHAP) for Georgia.
